About the contest

The traditional contest of scientific research papers and projects by RUDN students. For the third year in a row, it is timed to coincide with the International Scientific Conference “For the Sustainable Development of Civilization: Cooperation, Science, Education, Technology.”

Who can participate in the contest

  • those pursuing bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and specialized degrees in various fields of study and educational formats based on the recommendation of their scientific supervisors;
  • individually and in a team (no more than 3 people).

Important: each student or a student team can only make one submission for the contest.

Stages of the contest

  • Submission of entires; participants gather in RUDN's educational departments.

  • The first stage of the pre-qualification process begins with the selection of papers in RUDN's educational departments.

  • The second stage of the pre-qualification process includes the selection of papers centrally. A panel of RUDN faculty and external experts evaluate the recommended papers.

  • Announcement of the results.

  • Holding the International Scientific Conference “For the Sustainable Development of Civilization: Cooperation, Science, Education, Technology. The path of Latin American and Caribbean countries towards the 17 SDGs: an integrated approach”.

What should I write about?

  • On one or more related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the context of Latin America, the Caribbean or countries in other regions of the world, interstate unions.
  • Prospects for cooperation and the development of partnership models and strategies to improve the conditions related to the SDGs and to enhance sustainable development programs in the examined states, considering political, economic, scientific, technological, socio-cultural, and other changes.

Seven steps to participate in the Contest

  • Select a thematic area related to the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) for Latin American and Caribbean countries, and collaborate with a supervisor to formulate a topic aligned with the contest theme “LATIN AMERICAN, CARIBBEAN COUNTRIES — COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD: Partnership for Sustainable Development”.
  • Prepare documents according to the established forms:
    entry for participation in the contest;
    consent to the processing of personal data.
  • Obtain the following documents and have them signed by your supervisor:
    a recommendation letter signed by your research supervisor;
    an anti-plagiarism certificate.
  • Prepare a contest paper in accordance with the established requirements.
    Recommendations for preparing papers and presentations.
  • Hand the contest materials over to the Research Institute coordinator or the dean's science deputy / director of the educational unit (department, institute, academy, higher school).
  • Prepare a presentation to defend the contest paper if you reach the finals.
  • Wait for the results of the contest.
